Ashleigh is the Business Growth and Maaori Economic Development Manager at Te Waka. She has 12+ years’ experience providing business and policy advice, advocacy and support to senior executives and business owners In her dual role at Te Waka she is committed to supporting the Business Growth team to deliver business growth advice and regional business partner activities to over 600 businesses a in the region. She is also working with agencies and Iwi to implement the long-term agenda set out in Te Whare Ohaoha – the refreshed Maaori Economic Development Action plan to deliver whaanau, employment, education and enterprise outcomes for Maaori. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Management Studies (with first class honours) from the University of Waikato and is a certified Environmental Commissioner.
