Kahurangi has a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Business Administration. She specialises in supporting start-ups, SMES, Maori businesses and land trusts. She is a Kura Kaupapa kid from the small town of Waiuku and has whakapapa connections to Ngati Te Ata Waiohua and Te Waiariki. Kahurangi previously ran her own business in nutrition consultancy and is the founder of the charitable trust, Te Ara Rangatahi. She has been involved in 3 other start-up/early stage ventures across health, environmental services and economic development. She is very passionate about equity and Maori economic development. As well as being a business growth advisor to Te Waka she works to connect Maori and Pasifika business to work opportunities through He Waka Eke Noa, a social procurement initiative based in South Auckland.
